i def wouldn't call it rice, stretched tires started in europe because of the laws, rice is just basically throwing on the lightest wheel you can find which basically means 15 or 14 inch, in portugal its illegal to put bigger wheels on cars so they go wide and hench the stretch, and i do agree with you about function over form (most of the time), if go to much u can risk popping the bed and then may god help you!
